Aging is inevitable, and there will always come a point whether at age 65 or 85, when living alone is no longer sustainable.  Once you reach this threshold, it's time to consider other housing options like residential care facilities.  Residential care facilities are a great stepping stone for senior residents as they age.  However, knowing when you're at the perfect stage for residential care can be tough, especially if you're unsure what residential care really entails.

In this guide, we'll break down everything you need to know about residential care.

WHAT IS A RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITY

A Residential Care Facility - often called assisted living, board and care or adult family homes - provide:

  • Daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, medication)
  • For individuals who cannot live independently but do not require 24/7 skilled nursing.

WHAT TYPE OF RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITY ARE WE?

We are a board and care home: a small, private residential home housing up to 6 residents.  We offer a highly personalized, quiet, and home-like environment.

WHAT ARE OUR SERVICES PROVIDED?

  • Help with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
  • Medication management and distribution.
  • Housekeeping, laundry, and meal services.
  • Basic supervision and 24/7 on-site staff.
